Posted by dvillangelo - 10/08/09 at 12:08:12 amI am not sure whether majority of you visits SaintSeiyaToys forum regularly. But for sure, there are lots of quality news and photographs there. Here is one of them.
About Ivan @ SSToys
Last year, SaintSeiyaToys held a competition of 16 categories (called Saint Seiya Toys Awards) amongst the participants in the forum. One of the categories includes best photography, in which the award went to Ivan.
Ivan is known as one of the best photographer in SaintSeiyaToys community. His work is also recognized internationally, namely Chinese forum of All4Seiya and French forum of Ikki63. If you haven’t seen his collection and photographs, be sure to check his collection thread at SaintSeiyaToys forum (No registration required) or his photostream @ flickr
His SAGA Project
From time to time, he always keeps innovating on how to capture the best figurine pictures. So, he came out with the technique called “SAGA Project“.
It is a digital capture system based on the so-called HDR, which basically consists of capturing the object several times, but instead of varying the amount of light in every shot (as would in the HDR), which makes it differ the focal point in the lens. It requires up to 32 shots at one focal figure, with an investment of time for each. Once the shots available, are processed through a software to merge photographic images and produce a single high sharpness and detail. See the difference below.
